Nokia Lumia 1320 Review

Nokia has introduced it’s three new and probably the latest smart devices in the package. These are two models with large 6-inch screens and a Lumia 2520 tablet, which should close one and more than a successful chapter in the history of mobile devices.

The more expensive and of course better model, when it comes to phones, is marked Lumia 1520, while the cheaper version of these large Windows Phone devices is called Lumia 1320. The main advantage of this model will be the ability for users to get a big HD for a decent figure (about $ 339) screen and quite a decent dual-core processor.

So, the Lumia 1320 together with its more expensive colleague represents Nokia’s first trip to the phablet segment, which Samsung once opened with the Galaxy Note model.

Lumia 1320 design

Increasingly, we will see manufacturers offering phones in a variety of colors. Such a rule was accepted even by Apple in the iPhone 5C model, and here Nokia also accepted it. Thus, the Lumia 1320 comes in two cheerful colors (orange and yellow) and two classic and conservative colors – white and black.

Despite the fact that this phone will not enter the segment of expensive models, the Lumia 1320 is made of quality plastic with a matte finish, which gives the phone a metallic shine. This phone weighs 220 grams, which is not a record, but the big screen has taken its toll.

Lumia 1320 screen

When you have a phone with a 6-inch screen, it is clear that there is plenty of space for everything.

Of course, as this phone is in the middle price range, it is clear that the resolution could not be the highest possible, so this LCD screen has 720p image quality, or a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, at 245 pixels per inch, which is certainly ok. There is of course Corning Gorilla Glass 3 scratch protection.

Lumia 1320 specification

Lumia 1320 6Unlike the aforementioned Lumia 1520 and Lumia 2520 tablets, the cheaper Lumia 1320 does not feature a powerful quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, but a dual-core replacement (Qualcomm Snapdragon S4) at 1.7GHz.

The difference between the models is also visible in terms of memory, so this phone has only 8GB of internal memory, but with support for microSD, it can reach a maximum of 64GB.

It should be mentioned that the phone is equipped with an LTE connection and a generous 3400mAh battery, which, according to factory data, is enough for 31 hours of talk time over a 3G network and 672 hours in stand by mode.

Lumia 1320 software

The Lumia 1320 runs on the latest version of the Windows Phone 8 operating system (Update 3) for phablets and quad-core processors, which is not important for this model. Here, the biggest difference is noticed in the three rows of tiles on the home screen, which is a consequence of the large screen. There are, of course, many integrated Microsoft software treats, such as Office.

Lumia 1320 camera

This is where the biggest difference between this and the more expensive Lumia models can be seen. The 5MP camera is far from what we would like to see from the latest Lumia gadget (it is enough to know that the Lumia 1020 has a monstrous 41MP camera), and the closest relative of the Lumia 1520 is the excellent 20MP. For consolation, there are good options that the camera offers.

Lumia 1320 first impressions

Lumia 1320 8The Lumia 1320 generally gives a positive and pleasant impression. Nokia, which will soon retire undeservedly, certainly wanted to say goodbye in a nice way. Of the three devices presented, the Lumia 1320 is the cheapest and therefore the weakest link in this chain.

Still, if we know that for just over $ 300 you get a 6-inch HD screen and the latest version of Windows Phone 8, things have to look a little different. By comparison, this phone is more than twice as cheap as the Lumia 1520.

Many will say that the time of dual-core processors is running out, but keep in mind that Windows phones do not require as much power as those on the Android platform. A small number of pixels on the screen and in the camera remain problematic, but for the mentioned money, the Lumia 1320 is a very, very good choice. Of course
