Nokia Lumia 1520 Review

Nokia has decided to contribute to the growth of smartphones. From the once great 4 inches to 6 inches, they are currently setting a new standard in the class of smartphones. These are the new Lumia 1320 and Lumia 1520 models, which are considered to be the largest device of its kind offered by a Finnish manufacturer, and which we have already written about. On the other hand, the Lumia 1320 also has a 6-inch screen, but a weaker configuration, so the stronger Lumia 1520 grows into the new super hero of Scandinavia. At the same time, this phone became the largest on the Windows Phone platform, as well as the first model on Microsoft’s optional system that has a full HD screen and a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.

Lumia 1520 design

The Lumia 1520 retains its already recognizable design. The case of the phone made of plastic is very reminiscent of the well-known model Lumia 720 , only with larger dimensions, but recognizable quality of workmanship.

This phone has dimensions of 162.8 x 85.4 x 8.7 mm, or the expected large dimensions, but also a large mass of as much as 208 grams, which is equivalent to almost twice the weight of the average smartphone, despite the thickness of only 8.7 mm. The first information says that the phone is suitable for holding in one hand, but still 6 inches simply requires both hands, so as such, this phablet must be accepted.

Lumia 1520 screen

When it comes to the IPS LCD screen, the aforementioned 6-inch diagonal has an excellent 367 pixels per inch, with a resolution of 1080 × 1920 pixels. The first information says that the image it reproduces is really fantastic, and that the display of colors is at a high level, as well as the viewing angles, to which Nokia has long been accustomed.

Lumia 1520 specification

If you thought Nokia did a good job only from the outside, you are grossly mistaken. The Windows Phone 8 operating system has always worked like clockwork, and what do you think will only work now that we know that the Lumia 1520 has a fantastic quad-core 2.26GHz processor and 2GB of RAM !?

At first glance, it is an excessive waste of energy and power, but it will certainly delight fans of demanding video games and LTE ultra-fast internet access. In order for everything to work in the best order, a fairly strong 3,400mAh battery, which has the option of wireless charging, will do its best. According to factory data, this lithium-ion non-replaceable battery is capable of supporting about 25 hours of talk time and up to 780 hours of stand-by mode.

When it comes to memory, it is clear that as much as 32GB of internal space is a big plus, as well as the option of micro SD expansion to twice the memory.

Lumia 1520 camera

As expected, Nokia has opted for a slightly “softened” version of the 41MP PureView sensor, ie a 20MP sensor, for the Lumia 1520 phablet. The camera has optical stabilization, as well as the PureView option to zoom the photo after shooting without losing quality.

Lumia 1520 sale and price

The new Lumia 1520 will be available in black, red, yellow and white, and in a package with its weaker cousin Lumia 1320, this kind of Windows Phone recorder should appear on the market by the end of the year, at premium price.
