Samsung Galaxy Grand Review

Samsung has rekindled passions with the introduction of its new model. The Samsung Galaxy Grand is a 5-inch smartphone, but despite the fact that it immediately associates it with the most powerful segment of the smartphone society, it is still a mid-range device, although many will certainly not agree with this statement.

Everyone looks at the world of technology from their own angle and that’s how it is. So, the Samsung Galaxy Grand is 9.6 mm thick, has an 8-megapixel camera and a pretty good 2-megapixel auxiliary, but also what was most expected – it looks like the unsurpassed Samsung Galaxy S3. What will you do, the team that won does not change, and if it is an individual sport, then you do not change that one and only (successful) athlete.

What leads us to characterize the Samsung Galaxy Grand as mediocre is the screen with a modest and already surpassed resolution of 480 × 800 pixels, which can be found on all totally mediocre and somewhat “old school” phones, and as it is a new device, it is clear that the Samsung Galaxy Grand is not intended for any potential rivalry with the most powerful smartphones at the moment.

For the sake of comparison, the powerful Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 have displays with 720 × 1280 pixels, while the latest iPhone and iPhone 5 have a display with 640 × 1136 pixels. It is a pity because of this drop in the quality of the resolution because it is certain that it will be very noticeable on such a large diagonal.

Below the surface, the situation is somewhat different. There’s a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM, which, after all, isn’t impressive, but it would still be enough for users who don’t get the most out of their phones. The situation is slightly better with the internal memory, which is at the correct 8 GB, with the option to expand via a microSD card. At the same time, the installation of the 4.1 version of the Android OS is commendable on the Samsung Galaxy Grand. The 2,100 mAh battery is commendable, as is the Galaxy S3.

It is not yet known when and where the Samsung Galaxy Grand will first go on sale and at what price, but it is clear that it should or at least should be competitive with the affordable Google Nexus 4 smartphone.

How do you like the Samsung Galaxy Grand? Is it just another in a series of Samsung’s enormous product range, or a model that will still make an above-average market result.
