The CES 2013 consumer electronics fair, which is being held in Las Vegas, is slowly coming to an end, but it leaves behind good news for all fans of big screens on smartphones. If you don’t recognize a diagonal of less than some 4.5 inches, then this is great news for you. Namely, three manufacturers have announced new smartphones which, according to their characteristics, will have the right to hope for good this year.

These are Huawei Ascend W1, ZTE Grand S and Lenovo IdeaPhone K900, and Huawei Ascend Mate. So names that don’t mean much at the moment, but don’t be surprised if you hold them in your hand soon. Let’s go in order…

Huawei Ascend W1

Huawei Ascend W1 is the first Windows 8 phone from this Chinese company. It seems that Android is not enough for the Chinese, so they decided to jump to Microsoft’s OS as well. Huawei Ascend W1 is very similar to the Nokia models, namely Nokia Lumia 900 and Nokia Lumia 920. This device is characterized by sharp edges, ie a rectangular appearance in the center of which is dominated by a screen with bright colors.

This resemblance to the Lumia does not cease, as the Huawei Ascend W1 will be sold in the same colors as the models in this series: blue, red, white, and black. If it is for the consolation of the Finnish company, it is clear that they are on the right path if someone copies them. Hand on heart, the phone looks nice, so you don’t need to look for hair in the egg in order to find some more serious objections.

The Huawei Ascend W1 will have a screen, we can freely say, of a slightly poor resolution of 800 × 480 pixels on a diagonal of 4 inches. The phone itself will have a thickness of just over 1 cm, which is commendable in any case. A 1.2 GHz fast Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 with Adreno 305 graphics was chosen for the processor.

The battery will have a capacity of 1,950 mAh, which allows the Huawei Ascend W1 up to 19 days in standby mode. Details about the sale and price are not known.

ZTE Grand S

The ZTE Grand S is a slim HD smartphone. The fact that the ZTE Grand S is only 6.9 mm thin and that the body of this device with a 5-inch screen has a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, which has a clock speed, speaks for itself. of a respectable 1.7 GHz.

The respect specification is not only inside, but certainly outside, because the ZTE Grand S will have a 13 MP camera on its back, while for video calls it is provided on the front of the phone with “only” 2 MP.

Both cameras are able to “capture” videos in 1080p, so the ZTE Grand S can be considered a powerful multimedia smartphone. The problem may be that the multimedia “eats” the battery, which here has a capacity of only 1,780 mAh.

Among other things, it should be mentioned that this ZTE pollen has 2 GB of RAM as well as 16 GB of internal memory available. For those who don’t have enough, there is also an option for microSD expansion. How much ZTE believes in the Grand S is evidenced by the installation of support for LTE technology.

ZTE Grand S is working on the 4.1 version of Android, and on its way to conquering the world, it will start from its home China in the next month or two.

Lenovo IdeaPhone K900

This is a 5.5-inch smartphone intended for the Chinese market with a dual-core Intel processor. By the way, the Lenovo IdeaPhone K900 is one of the first phones with an Atom processor. And not with any processor, because this Lenovo beast is equipped with a speed of as much as 2 GHz!

Of course, it would be a real shame if the screen lags behind the processor, so in addition to the large diagonal, the manufacturer has invested a lot in the image quality itself, which is displayed in 1080p quality with a fantastic density of over 400 pixels per inch. The fact that the phone is made of stainless steel and plastic additionally contributes to the overall impression, while the design is quite modern with sharp edges.

Lenovo is very proud of its work and points out that the IdeaPhone K900 is very fast, especially when it comes to surfing the net and the response of the application. Like the ZTE Grand S and the powerful Sony Xperia Z, the Lenovo IdeaPhone K900 features a 13 MP camera.

The phone should be operational on version 4.2 of the Android platform until the sale, and it is interesting that future owners will be able to turn off the factory interface if they don’t like it. The premiere of this phone is expected during April in China.

Huawei Ascend Mate

Huawei again. Yes, and for a great reason! This Chinese manufacturer announced that it would shock the world, and it really did. They threatened an enormously large phone and there it is. Huawei Ascend Mate is realistic and has a 6.1-inch screen !!! And it goes on sale in February. Ok, to China, but if it shows up in other segments besides the screen, it should be expected quickly in the rest of the world.

Huawei Ascend Mate has a 720p IPS LCD screen with a slightly lower resolution compared to the Ascend D2. This is understandable considering the megalomania of the screen itself, which occupies 73% of the phone’s surface. Interestingly, Huawei has announced that the screen will be “manageable” even when the user wears gloves, so here are the joys for all those who live in colder areas.

Huawei Ascend Mate will run on Android 4.1 and a 1.5 GHz processor, while data on RAM and internal memory are not known yet. However, it is known that a massive 4,050 mAh battery will keep pace with the monstrous screen, which should keep this beast in operation for at least two days. The commitment to the screen and the battery led to a lack of quality in the cameras, which were “stopped” at 8 and 1 MP.

What can I say, except for every part? Especially since this is not about top manufacturers. What is your favorite?
