Abkoncore may not be a household name in the United States, but the brand enjoys significant popularity in South Korea. They produce a wide range of computer peripherals, including mice, headsets, PC cases, and of course, keyboards. Most of their keyboards fall into the budget to mid-range category, and the K660 Arc sits comfortably in the budget segment.

In this review, I’ll share my hands-on impressions of this affordable mechanical keyboard. For context, I’ve also previously reviewed Abkoncore’s higher-end, premium model.

Unboxing and What’s in the Box

The package arrives with everything you need to get started right away. Inside, you’ll find the K660 Arc keyboard itself, connected via a standard USB-A cable. Additional accessories include a protective keyboard cover, perfect for safe storage or travel, a keycap puller tool for customization or thorough cleaning, and a handy cleaning brush to reach between the keys. Finally, there’s a user manual that explains the various lighting effects and functions.

Design and First Impressions

Right out of the box, the K660 Arc makes a bold statement with its aggressive, gaming-oriented design. The most striking feature is the unique cutout at the top of the keyboard — a sharp, angular design I haven’t seen on many other models. This gives the board a distinctive and edgy personality.

Another highlight is the RGB lighting integrated along the sides. These lights arc upward, creating an impressive glow when the keyboard rests on your desk. It adds a dynamic and visually appealing touch that enhances the overall aesthetic.

Build Quality and Materials

Despite being a budget keyboard, the K660 Arc doesn’t feel cheap. The entire body is constructed from plastic, but it feels solid and durable. The prominent top cutout features an acrylic panel that lights up thanks to built-in RGB illumination, which can be customized via keyboard shortcuts.

The cable is fully braided, offering a premium feel and good resistance to wear over time. In terms of size and profile, the keyboard lands in the medium range — not overly bulky, yet substantial. It follows a traditional full-size layout, which includes a dedicated number pad, function keys, and media controls, making it a true 100% keyboard.

Key Switches and Typing Experience

This model comes equipped with blue mechanical switches, known for their clicky and tactile feedback. These switches deliver a satisfying bump and audible click with every keystroke, which many enthusiasts love for both typing and gaming. The responsive, crisp feel makes daily use enjoyable.

That said, blue switches are notably loud, which could become an issue in shared workspaces or quiet environments. If noise might disturb others around you, you may want to consider a quieter switch option if available.

The keycaps are ergonomically shaped with a slight angle that allows your fingertips to rest comfortably, reducing strain during long sessions. Additionally, the adjustable rear legs let you tilt the keyboard to your preferred angle, further improving comfort and posture.

RGB Lighting and Customization

The K660 Arc offers plenty of lighting flexibility to match your setup. There are 13 different lighting patterns accessible by holding the Function key and pressing the Mode key. You can adjust the animation speed across five levels using the arrow keys, and brightness is similarly controllable with five intensity settings.

The side lighting is particularly customizable — you can set it to solid colors, breathing effects, or a flowing rainbow wave. These side lights also sync with the acrylic top panel, creating a cohesive and vibrant look across the keyboard.

Value for Money and Final Verdict

Priced at around $50, the Abkoncore K660 Arc delivers excellent value in the mechanical keyboard space. Most quality mechanical boards start at $80 or higher, making this one a strong contender for budget-conscious buyers who still want solid performance and features.

The standout elements are its unique aggressive design, the eye-catching side RGB lighting, comfortable typing feel, and overall build quality that punches above its price point. While it may not compete with ultra-premium custom keyboards, it offers a very enjoyable experience that rivals many more expensive alternatives.

If you’re looking for a full-size mechanical keyboard with personality, great accessories, and solid performance without breaking the bank, the K660 Arc is worth considering. You can find purchase links in the description if you’re interested.
