A few years ago, Samsung introduced to the public a device that has become one of the company’s trademarks. It is a Samsung Galaxy Note device, and now the Koreans have introduced the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 as the latest model from the Galaxy Note product line and here is a review of it.
At first glance, the new device does not give the impression of revolutionary design changes, so it can be said that Samsung’s designers are sleeping a peaceful dream of the righteous and have nothing to regret and the like.
Of course, it would be utterly out of place to say that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 remains the same as its predecessor. However, it is always good to see a new device because every step in development is important, no matter how great it really was.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 design and dimensions
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is moderate when it comes to dimensions. Samsung did not want to jeopardize the reputation of this device by further increasing its screen diagonal, so future owners of this device will be able to count on a 5.7-inch screen.
Any major experimentation would lead to the megalomaniacal screen that the Samsung Galaxy Mega already has. I think that this is a good move, because from the consumer’s side, it seems to us that it is easy to go endlessly to expand the diagonal, without taking into account whether that device will really be able to be used.
When it comes to appearance, the biggest change can be seen on the back, where Samsung put a matte leather finish instead of the classic glossy plastic, so the device looks like it was put in a case, which is a novelty and at first glance a nice solution.
With dimensions of 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3mm, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is slightly longer and thinner than its predecessor. This device weighs 168 grams, which is 12 grams less than its predecessor. With this gesture, Samsung has shown that it is still able to enlarge screens and reduce the weight of the device, which is certainly a good thing.
This, among other things, has contributed to better holding in the hands, regardless of the fact that it should not be forgotten that such devices are not so easy to master.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 screen
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 therefore uses a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED full HD screen, giving a very good 386 pixels per inch, which is a significant jump compared to the first generation of the Note. The screen is also far better lit than its predecessor and gives a great image from almost any angle.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 specification
When it comes to specification, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will come in two versions. The first will have a Snapdragon 800 processor with 2.3GHz, while the second will be equipped with an Exynos Octa-core SoC chipset with 1.9GHz speed.
Regardless of the processor, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will run on 4.3 Android OS and 13 cameras (with the option to record full HD video) and 2MP. Also, the device will be equipped with 3GB of RAM, and customers will be left with a choice of 32 or 64GB of internal memory.
In addition to a series of connections, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will also have a 3,200mAH battery, which we will see how it turns out. Also, an LTE connection comes with the device.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 S Pen
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to arrive with the S Pen option. When the pen is pulled out, an option called Air Command is automatically activated, which offers a number of quick options, which are mainly reduced to writing notes, reminders and the like.
Text and number recognition is also included in this option, so you can save a lot of time and gain flexibility in your work. Since the screen is as big as it is, it should come as no surprise that the device offers us to determine the edges of the application we are currently using, as well as to keep others in the background in standby mode that we may need. Something like the Multi Window option.
