Exam deadlines are a nightmare for every student. Probably everyone agrees with that. With all that stress and restlessness in your head, you need to be well organized, find enough time, and concentrate on learning and taking exams. Those who are only starting college this year are still not even aware of the hardships that await them when the first exam deadlines begin. But still, not everything is so black, everything is possible with goodwill and a few tips from experienced students who went through all this and survived. To help you prepare for exams, we have compiled a list of useful tips to help you in this stressful period.
The organization is definitely the first step you need to take. Visit your faculty website and download a list of exam deadlines. If for some reason your faculty does not offer this option, you will need to visit it or request a list via email. If by chance two exams are scheduled for the same day and even at the same time, you will need to set a higher priority exam. But you can also ask to move one of the exams an hour or two sooner or later. Schedule a meeting with colleagues and explain your situation to them, and it is very possible that you are not the only one affected by this problem. Collectively contact the office and contact the professor with an explanation of the problem. And don’t forget, always be cultural in communication and addressing.
After you have considered and planned which exams you are taking, it is time to register them on time. Application deadlines often vary from faculty to faculty, some are more flexible than others, so it is best to check everything on the official website or office.
Seek advice from senior colleagues
Once you have decided which exams you want to take, it would not be bad to get in touch with colleagues from older years and ask for their advice for preparing for certain exams. Find out what you can expect at the exam, what questions are rotated, what literature is good to go through, what to pay special attention to, what the written part looks like and how the oral part looks like, etc. But don’t forget that each of us cultivates a different approach to learning, what is easy for another student can be difficult – and vice versa, so talk to more of them and consider all the advice you receive.

Get materials and find a place to study
A peaceful place to study is what every student needs, even though individuals deviate from that rule as well. It can be a classroom or a faculty library, a city library, your room, etc. All my places can give you peace of mind and concentration for successful exam preparation come into consideration.
Make sure you do all the preparation on time. If you need some research work, ask your colleagues, if you are a student of architecture or construction, get the necessary paper for a plotter to make your work, and if the exam requires group work on time, consult with colleagues. Surround yourself with the materials you have collected for exam preparation, lecture notes, scripts, books, research, presentations, exam examples, and work assignments.
If by any chance you study and work through a student service, exam preparation should be an absolute priority for you, so pause your job and return to it when the exam deadlines are over. Earnings are attractive, but you are still in college because of your knowledge and education.
Don’t forget to take a break
Discipline in learning is a very important thing and in order to achieve the set goals, you have to stick to a planned schedule. However, it is also important to take a break sometimes. Intensive learning is a common cause of stress in students, and it’s something you don’t want to be exposed to for too long. So clear your head a little, drink something, and eat it.
Students often gravitate to fast food, so much so that even the popular toast sandwich has been renamed – student sandwich – and is on offer at all restaurants and stalls in the immediate vicinity of the college (but also beyond). However, healthy food is a better choice, and at the same time, it affects better memory. So equip your fridge with whole grains, milk, and yogurt, nuts (almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts), dried and fresh fruits, vegetables, and dark chocolate. Find an interesting recipe online and prepare a delicious and healthy meal.
But by no means eat and study. This is a break and time for rest, so use it that way. Rather go out into the fresh air if the weather allows, and even take a walk, it will help you much more in further learning.
In the morning, on the day of the exam, your nervousness is probably at its peak, so relax with your favorite music, a cup of coffee, and repeat a little material, especially those segments that you failed to remember best. It is crucial to remain calm both before the exam and during the exam. Repeat your calming mantra in your head, think about green fields and forests, planned trips, and everything else that will calm you down. When the exam starts, take a deep breath, read all the questions carefully, and start solving them.
If you happen to get stuck on a question, move on to the next one and come back to it at the end. Try to remember underlined words and sentences, lecture notes, and everything else that can lead you to the correct (or at least partially correct) answer. Improvisation sometimes works.
